Polyamide (PA), widely known as nylon, is an engineering plastic for parts that need strength, stiffness and resistance to heat and wear. Grade J2500Z is supplied as a base resin: compounded with flame retardants, toughening agents and other additives, it is used for injection-moulded parts in automotive, electric tools, electronics and electrical appliances, machinery, furniture and toys.
J2500Z has a melting point of 221 °C, a moisture content of 0.06% and a Shore D hardness of 78.5. According to the producer, it serves as the base of modified compounds made with flame retardants, toughening agents and other additives.
MFI in g/10 min (230 °C, 2.16 kg), melting point in °C and tensile strength in MPa. Values are taken from the producer's technical data sheet (TDS); the grade can be used beyond the uses listed.
